2009-2010 STUDENT HANDBOOK
The Albany Academies are a community of learners, achievers and leaders from diverse backgrounds and beliefs that promotes awareness, understanding and respect for one another.
Each day at the Academies builds upon the last, each year prepares students for the next. On each campus, the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools are housed under one roof. This not only reflects our philosophy that learning proceeds along a continuum, but it also allows students to build a home away from home, complete with deep ties to their Academies family.
Young students benefit from interacting with caring, accomplished older students, who in turn learn the joy of reaching out to those who will follow in their footsteps. All of our students are enriched by the many teachers and advisors who guide and support them through their transitions from one grade to the next, from childhood to young adulthood.
Our curriculum is designed to challenge students to become analytical, creative, independent and open-minded thinkers and global leaders who uphold the values of civility, generosity, honor, personal integrity and community service.
