Online safety tips

Casey Quinlan, a Senior Investigator with the New York State Attorney General's Office, spoke to parents on Thursday in Caird Chapel about the importance of online safety when it comes to their children.
Since 1999, Investigator Quinlan has been assigned to the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a multiagency partnership concentrating on the investigation of the online sexual exploitation of children.
She offered a number of helpful tips during her presentation, including keeping your identity private; never responding to messages that make you feel uncomfortable; never meeting offline without asking your parent or guardian's permission; respecting other people online; and thinking about the offline consequences of your online actions.
A presentation for Upper School students will be held today in Caird Chapel. |
