Thank you for your interest in The Albany Academies. We appreciate how challenging it can be as you research your options for your child's education.

Why attend an independent school? The reasons cited over and over again by the 4,000 families who send their children to independent schools in the Capital Region include; individual attention, small class sizes, teacher excellence, and high academic standards. The main motive for families looking into independent education can be summarized in one word: quality. We encourage our students to grow toward their own level of excellence through a combination of academic, athletic, artistic, and social activities. Our students flourish as a result of this combination, and I am sure your child will as well.

The Albany Academies offer many opportunities for children entering our Preschool program through Grade 12. We strongly believe in single-gender education through Grade 8, when it is most critical. Co-educational opportunities for students begin in the upper grades, in preparation for college and life. As a student goes through the Upper School, more co-educational classes are available. Our strong college preparatory program includes a wealth of opportunities for our students to gain leadership positions and to take part in various performing arts and athletic programs.

The best way for a student to get a true sense of The Albany Academies is to visit! Prospective students are paired with a host student who will take them to classes, give them a tour of our campus, introduce them to faculty members and other students and really give them an idea of what it is like to attend our school. Discover how the Academies advantage can help prepare your child to meet the challenges of life and appreciate a lifelong love of learning.

Students who wish to apply to The Albany Academies must submit the Application for Admission, Parent Evaluation, recommendations, transcript (if appropriate), and take an entrance exam for Grades 5-12 or meet with one of our teachers or administrators for a skills screening for Preschool-Grade 4.

Feel free to contact me at any time and I look forward to meeting with you.

Warm regards,
