Community Service
Students at Albany Academy for Girls have a long history of involvement in community service. They spend approximately 1,000 hours each year working with local nonprofit organizations as part of a curriculum that emphasizes service and the feeling of pride that is gained from selflessly working for the good of the community.
The Academies commitment to service is something that can be seen year-round on campus and throughout the community.
Here are a few examples:

- The annual Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball tournament raised more than $15,000 for the American Cancer Society
- The Albany Academies were one of the top fundraising teams for the Team Billy Ride & Walk for Research
- Concert for the Cure raised over $3,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
- Over 200 parent volunteers worked with the AAPA to host many programs that had a direct impact on students, faculty, and staff
Students from Preschool through Grade 12 participate in two community service day – one in the fall and one in the spring – during the school year. Students and faculty spend the day volunteering with nonprofit organizations in the region and participating in special projects on campus.
