The Albany Academies After School Enrichment Programs

Mission: The Albany Academies Enrichment Programs provide students with knowledge, skills, and character development in areas outside their required courses.  Talented and experienced teachers provide our students with exciting and fun educational experiences in visual and theatre arts, science and athletics that complement our core curriculum
The Albany Academies Enrichment Programs are offered in three sessions that coincide with our academic terms: fall, winter, and spring.  Program choices are designed and developed for all student ages and abilities and they are taught by faculty members of The Albany Academies and experienced professionals.  Program offerings will meet once per week for one hour within a session for a total of eight weeks.  Please see the class schedule below for details times, locations, and fees.  
Class will begin the week of January 9 will have a minimum and maximum of students and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  All registration will be noted for date and time of receipt and an email of acceptance into the class will be sent in reply. Popular programs fill up very quickly after registration begins; so make your plans accordingly. Programs and days are subject to change.

The cost is as follows:
·         Students not attending Extended Day full time for the term: $100 per student per class
·         Students that have paid for Extended Day full time for the term: $40 per student per class
·         Robotics: students not attending extended day full time: $200 per student, students paying for extended day full time: $80 per student

  • Advanced Chess

    3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

    Advanced chess is for the experienced chess player who has learned the skills and fundamentals of chess. Chess will take place on the AAG campus in a room TBD  
  • Beginner Chess

    3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

    Beginner Chess is for any student curious about learning the basics of the game.  Beginner chess will take place on the AAG campus in a room TBD 
  • Brain Games

    3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

    This course will be run by our school counselor, Powell Cucchiella.  The focus will be to develop relationships, social and emotional intelligence through game play.  Games will include board games, card games, and other interactive games.  Brain Games will take place in the Buttery on the AA campus.

  • Ceramics

    3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

    Students explore visual arts through the design, working, and creating of sculptures. 
    This will take place in the Art room on the AAG campus. 
  • Chess Grades K - 6

    3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

    The chess program is designed for chess players of all levels - novice and experienced. Instruction focuses on the fundamentals of chess to build skill level and love of the game.  Chess will take place in the Buttery on the AA campus.

  • Yo-Yo

    3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    This program explores all aspects of yo-yo including the history of yo-yo and learning many tricks. Yo-yo is open to students of all skill levels.  Yo-yo will take place in the Buttery at AA.
