International Trip to Spain, Italy and Greece

Three teachers at The Academies - Lauren DeGeorgia, Susannah Brower, and Laura Frei - are organizing an educational tour to Spain, Italy and Greece during March break 2018. International travel offers a wealth of opportunities for learning outside the classroom, and this will be a fun, easy way for students to see the world with their friends. They will stroll through Barcelona's bustling city squares, set sail for imperial Rome, explore the lost city of Pompeii, and get a taste of Ancient Greece with a stop at the archaeological site at Mycenae. If you'd like a peek of the tour just visit www.Explorica.com/DeGeorgia-8569.

Please join us for a second informational meeting to learn more about our tour itinerary, the sign up process, and the payment schedule on Tuesday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m. in room AA 0-27 (basement of the AA campus).

World Language Trip to the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic was one of the first islands the Spanish encountered on their voyage to the New World. The opportunity to retrace the steps of Spanish explorers and understand the impact made on the Americas is an exciting chance to bring history and culture to life for our students. The trip combines cultural and language immersion with service learning and eco-tourism. Students will visit Christopher Columbus-era buildings, work with children at an orphanage, and explore the tropical jungle and beautiful coastline of the Caribbean Island on foot, horseback, and zipline. The trip is open to all students and families attending AAG in grades 8-12 (students must have completed their 8th grade year by 2018). Students who participate also have the opportunity to earn academic credit. Various payment options are available including monthly payment plans and financial aid.
