Mohonasen 0 - 1 Academy

One thing is abundantly clear - the Cadets do not like to make anything easy for themselves. Although just starting to adjust to turf, Academy played pretty well. Thanks to the sophomore midfield duo of #14 Kyah Lah Hsee and #15 Johner Soe, as well as juniors #10 Haroon Pasha and #9 Mike Malatino, the Cadets kept consistent pressure on. As has been the case all season long, however, the inability to finish their opponents off has given their coaches agita. The game was tied 0-0 at half only because of the effort of backup goaltender Ami Drucker, who stopped a PK. He wasn't done. Drucker was absolutely the man of the match by stopping yet ANOTHER PK in the second half, this in his first appearance backstopping the team. Truly an amazing feat for the young man - well done Ami! Those and a last second effort from Mohon were basically all the pressure Academy faced, so their D once again stood tall. Junior forward #9 Mike Malatino was finally able to get one through on a nice athletic play after a beautiful ball from junior #18 David Choma. Malatino was able to finish the play by putting the ball into the side nettin'. It wasn't pretty, but it was Academy's fourth straight W as they head into a HUGE match with rival Ichabod Crane on Thursday - looking for a little revenge after dropping the first one 1-2 to the Riders.
