  • Athletic Trainer - Part Time

     
    The Albany Academies – Albany Academy for Girls & The Albany Academy – practice a leadership model of education combining individual attention to students with project-based learning and demanding academics. We also combine single-gender education through the 10th grade with a co-educational program for juniors and seniors. For more than 200 years, the Academies have led the way in the Capital Region.
     
    We are seeking the following position:
    Athletic Trainer -- Part Time
    The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    * Provide emergency medical evaluation, treatment, and injury triage to student athletes during practice and/or competition
    * Provide daily injury prevention, on-site evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of student-athletes
    * Provide coverage to athletic practices and contests as directed by the Athletic Director and Training Staff
    * Keep up to date confidential medical records, including, but not limited to patient history, daily treatment records, injury reports and physician referrals
    * Assist with the inventory, receiving, and stocking of all athletic training supplies and equipment
    * Works harmoniously with coaches, athletic department staff, and student-athletes
    * Communicate with appropriate athletic staff / school nurse regarding status of injury and participation capabilities
     
    Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from accredited athletic training program. First Aid, CPR, excellent communication skills; both written and verbal, ability to work a flexible schedule and work nights and weekends.
     
    Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in relevant field.

  • Director of Lower and Middle Schools at The Albany Academy

    The Director of Lower and Middle Schools at The Albany Academy is responsible for the day-to-day operations of both divisions and reports to the Associate Head of School. The minimum requirements include a Master’s Degree, teaching experience, experience leading program development, alignment with the Academies’ values and mission, and the ability to effectively manage people and programs in a fast-paced environment.  
     
    Additional requirements include:
    • An understanding of boys and how they best learn, develop, and stay filled with curiosity and confidence.
    • The ability to build and lead an interactive faculty team full of zest and savvy.
    • A collaborative leadership style appropriate for a professional learning community.
    • An understanding of high academic standards and curriculum design, so as to supply the essential scaffolding of an Academies’ education.
    • An appreciation of project and product-based education that leads ultimately to confidence and creativity, and prepares students as self-motivated learners for the Upper School.
    • A knowledge of the role of physical education in the Pre-K through Grade Eight years.
    • The ability to coordinate with the Director of Lower and Middle Schools at Albany Academy for Girls in keeping with the mission of The Albany Academies.

    Position responsibilities include:
    • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
    • Proficient in Office 365 Applications
    • Support Windows and Mac OSX
    • Google/GoogleAdmin Apps for Education
    • Manage Active Directory (create and delete users as necessary)
    • Support SmartBoards/Flatscreens/Projectors – Install software/change bulbs, etc.
    • BYOD environment up to 3 devices per user
    • Wired and WiFi networking
    • Support tablets
    • Ability to track work tickets and escalate as needed
    • Track inventory
    • Excellent communication skills to support users with different technical abilities
