Message from the President

Hello to my dear Academy community! I have just completed my first full year as president and wanted to give a quick update on what we accomplished during that time.
--We held the first fully virtual Speed Mentoring Event that featured 17 alumnae from all over the country. The alumnae who volunteered their time out of their busy workday educated junior and senior AAG students on a variety of different careers available to them and the students asked insightful questions in return.
--We welcomed 10 new alumnae to the council and invited Wendy Summer ‘69 to speak to us about her humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan.
--We sifted through many accomplished individuals to award the Outstanding Young Alumna award to Brittiny Belmonte Razzano ‘04, the Distinguished Alumna award to Suzanne Walsh ‘87, and the Fredericka Voorhaar Slingerland Class of ‘32 Volunteer Service award to Nancy Wexelbaum ‘69. We also inducted Madison Daly ‘10, Bridget Malicki ‘11, Molly Ortolano ‘05, and Jenny Evans ‘92 into the Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

I want to thank the council for their hard work to make all of this happen.  This year we look forward to bringing Speed Mentoring back to campus and are looking to revamp our social activities and events. Nominations are open for all of our awards as well–please see our website to make your nominations today!

After completing my first full year as president, I feel like I have a solid handle on how the Alumnae Council currently functions, but I would love to hear from the alumnae community on how we can be a stronger voice for you and form stronger connections from alumna to student and also alumna to alumna. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
