Academy 5 - 0 Troy High

Albany Academy visited Troy high on a steamy evening in their second non-league game. The Cadets proved too much for the Flying Horses from the get go. Efficient ball movement was once again on display as chance after chance refused to go into the net. Senior captain Mike Malatino finally found the back of the net from a wonderful feed from fellow senior captain Haroon Pasha. Both of these leaders look to be stars this year, and that statement was bolstered with a quick second strike - this time Malatino to Pasha. Pasha scored again with a beauty from Amos Stack, and the game seemed out of distance for Troy. The second half saw two more go in for the Cadets - one from sophomore Danny Gazda on a gorgeous cross from senior Will Hayes, and another from Malatino yet again, this time assisted brilliantly by senior defender David Choma. While there is certainly a lot of expectations, chemistry, and camaraderie from this 2023 Academy squad, their first real test comes in two days against an always dangerous and well-coached Voorhesville team.
