Academy 2 - 3 Voorheesville

It was a tough-luck loss for the Cadets on a waterlogged Voorhesville pitch Monday night. A wild first half saw five goals go in, with Academy winning 1-0 and 2-1 before Voorhesville went up for good at 3-2. Breakout star Amos Stack led the offense again, scoring an amazing shot from close to 30 yards out. His second was a finish on wonderful plays by both Haroon Pasha and Mike Malatino. The second half was much more disciplined and methodical. While both teams had chances, no one could break through again. It was a well played, highly skilled match in tough conditions. Academy seems to be more well-balanced, with a number of ways to hurt you. Voorhesville seems to rely on it's blazing speed up front. Johner Soe was an absolute animal at right back, and should become a dangerous weapon from the backfield moving forward. There should be plenty of hype for the rematch on Academy Road next Friday, the 29th of September.
