Academy 4 - 1 Cobleskill

Academy took a Colonial Council match 4-1 today against Cobleskill. The Cadets at first overpowered their opposition and took a 2-0 lead early on positional goals from captain Haroon Pasha - finishing off the hard work done getting to the dirty areas by forward Amos Stack and defender Theo Haworth. Cobleskill then hunkered down and got back in the game - which went back and forth with little structure - where the half ended. Academy then got back to their game, moving the ball with control and communication. Pasha earned himself and the Cadets their first hattrick of the season - with a great strike - finishing off again what was great work from teammate Danny Gazda from the right side. Gazda put a great cross into an opportune area just outside the 18, where Pasha put a nifty move on his defender and sent it into the upper part of the frame. Cobleskill refused to quit and took advantage of a Cadet miscue - when Matt Gunzinger put in a rebound on a beautiful strike from 20+ yards out that wrung off the crossbar. Academy essentially put it away quickly afterward - as Pasha made a great cross to Mike Malatino - to make the final tally of the game. Cobleskill showed pride and determination not to quit from there, but it was mostly back on forth until the final whistle blew. Once again, many of the best players who didn't show on the score sheet continued to shine.
