Academy 0 - 1 Voorheesville

Another great battle, second of the season, which saw the class of Voorheesville through to victory. Academy started the game efficiently - creating several chances - trying to take advantage of their home field crowd. They were unable to do so, and Voorheesville settled into their game. If a majority of the best chances went to the Cadets early, most of the chances after that went to the Blackbirds. If not for a fantastic effort by Academy goaltender Ami Drucker, the score may have been much worse. Chances did go back and forth - and V-Ville struck on a penalty called in the box. A special shout out to Voorheesville freshman Artie Ambuhl, who was the best player on the field. His ferocity owned the midfield, which was where the game was decided. V-Ville dominated the first part of the second half when they earned their score from Eli Kirgan, but the Cadets regrouped afterwards and found some form. It was too little too late, however, and the Blackbirds can hang their hats on sweeping the Cadets in 2023.
