Academy 3 - 1 LaSalle

Old rivals Albany Academy and LaSalle got together for the first half of their regular season meetings, and the two squads picked up where they left off last year - slugging it out. Academy struck first on a nice cross from David Choma. Captain Rory McGuire was able to get his own rebound and put them up 1-0. LaSalle answered pretty quickly - earning a penalty shot which was put away with power. The game was chippy with several yellow cards, and it was clear each Cadet side wanted to get this win badly. Academy again went again on a great finish from Haroon Pasha after darting through the middle and unleashing a rocket. That would be where the half ended, and only one more strike in the second half by Mike Malatino changed the score sheet. Much of the second half was back and forth. LaSalle had free kick after free kick, trying to take advantage of Academy's sloppy defense and lazy fouls. They came close several times, but goaltender Will Hayes was steadfast in net for Academy. 3-1 was the final, and the next matchup between the two capital region Cadets takes place in Troy in 10 days.
